Objetivo General:

TO ANALYZE THE GENERAL PEDAGOGICAL KNOWLEDGE FOR THE TEACHING OF ENGLISH TO ELEVENTH AND TWELFTH GRADE STUDENTS IN ONE NGÄBERE INDIGENOUS HIGHSCHOOL IN COMTE BURICA SO THAT CULTURALLY RELEVANT PEDAGOGIES CAN BE SUGGESTED FOR THE INDIGENOUS NGÄBERE STUDENTS ENROLLED IN ENGLISH COURSES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF COSTA RICA.

Objetivos Específicos:

  1. To describe the socio-educational reality that Ngäbere tenth and eleventh students face in the language teaching curriculum in Comte Burica.
  2. To identify the repercussions of the socio-educational reality faced by Ngäbere on their English language learning experience.
  3. To explain the epistemological and the methodological aspects of the curriculum for English teaching to which the Ngäbere students are exposed in Comte Burica.
  4. To delineate the pedagogical needs of the Ngäbere students enrolled in English courses at the University of Costa Rica, Sede del Sur.
  5. To suggest a culturally relevant pedagogy for the indigenous Ngäbere students enrolled in English courses at the University of Costa Rica, Sede del Sur
